Our commitment
Certevia wants every parent to be able to take and finish our courses, including parents with disabilities. If anything on our website or in a course gets in the way, we want to hear about it and we will help.
We design our website and online course to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, and we rebuilt the parent workbook as a tagged, accessible PDF. We track every accessibility issue we find, fix it, and test it again after the fix goes live.
Standards we follow
- Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level A and AA, for our website, signup pages and online course (learning management system)
- The Revised Section 508 standards
- PDF/UA-1 (ISO 14289-1) for the parent workbook PDF
What this statement covers
- Pages on www.certevia.com, in English and Spanish
- Signup, checkout and login at parent.certevia.com
- The Certevia Online Parenting and Divorce Course, Version 6, including its videos
- The Parenting and Divorce parent workbook (PDF)
A retail Kindle e-book edition (published around 2012) is sold only on Amazon. It is not part of our courses, so it is not covered by this statement.
Current status
Our website, signup pages, online course and workbook are not yet fully conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Some parts do not yet meet the standard, and some parts have not been fully tested. We are working on fixes now, and we aim to complete the planned fixes by March 1, 2027.
Accessibility features available now
- Course videos have English and Spanish closed captions, and player controls that work with a keyboard.
- Narrated lesson pages show the lesson text on the page.
- Our website has a skip link on every page, a visible keyboard focus outline, underlined links, and a Pause/Play button on the moving “How it works” steps.
- The website, signup and course are available in English and Spanish, and the online course is self-paced.
- The accessible workbook PDF has tagged headings, lists and tables, bookmarks, image descriptions, 12-point single-column text, and strong color contrast.
Known limitations
- Signup and login pages: some of these pages can be harder to use with assistive technology or only a keyboard. If you need help signing up, call or email us. You complete the signup yourself; we do not take payments by phone.
- Online course: some parts of the course, including the completion certificate, are still being improved. Further updates are planned. If something gets in the way, call or email us.
- Earlier course versions: some state courses still use an earlier version. If you are in one of them and need help, call or email us.
- Workbook: the workbook is a PDF, and its worksheets are meant to be printed. If you need help with the worksheets, call or email us.
- Tools from other companies: some tools on our pages, such as chat and the video player, come from other companies. Phone and email are available during office hours if those tools get in the way.

How we evaluate accessibility
Certevia evaluates accessibility internally. We have not used an outside evaluator. Our methods include:
- Automated testing tools at desktop and phone screen sizes
- Manual checks of keyboard use, zoom, and related accessibility requirements
- A hands-on walkthrough of the online course with a test student account
- Screen-reader testing of the English and Spanish Version 6 courses (November 2026)
- PDF/UA validation of the workbook
We do not conduct user testing with people with disabilities at this time.
